REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, ROMA - Menteri Luar Negeri Italia Franco Frattini mengatakan provinsi di timur Libya Syrenaika tidak akan lama lagi berada di bawah kontrol kekuasaan Presiden Muammar Ghaddafi. Hal itu dikatakan dia setelah mendapat informasi dari Kedutaan Besar Italia di Tripoli, Rabu (23/2).
Menurut menteri Italia itu, sejauh ini sudah 1000 orang terbunuh di negara utara Afrika itu. "Kami tidak mendapatkan informasi yang lengkap tentang julah pasti warga Libya yang meninggal," ujarnya kepada repoter di Roma, Italia.
"Kami percaya bahwa estimasi (jumlah total yang meninggal) sekitar 1.000, itu yang kredibel," ujarnya seperti dikutip Reuters.
Gambar terbaru dari unjuk rasa besar-besaran yang berlangsung di Libya oleh para demonstran prodemokrasi dilaporkan bahwa pihak militer menggunakan senjata berat dalam menghalau aksi massa. Gambar itu diambil di sebuah rumah sakit di timur kota Benghazi, yang menunjukan beberapa korban yang meninggal dan terluka.
Kisaran 1000 lebih warga terbunuh terkait aksi jet tempur angkatan udara Libya yang menyerang para demonstran kemarin di Tripoli. Laporan tersebut mengkonfirmasikan bahwa para korban banyak yang meninggal karena dihantam jet tempur dan senjata helikopter.
Ghaddafi yang telah memerintah Libya selama 42 tahun dalam kudeta militer yang berdarah. Dalam kemunculannya pertama kali ditelevisi pemerintah menegaskan bahwa dirinya tidak akan mundur dan akan mati sebagai martir.
Sementara Menteri Dalam Negeri Libya Abdel Fatah Yuner telah mengundurkan diri dan bergabung dengan para demonstran guna menggulingkan Ghaddafi.
Kebijakan pemerintah yg tentunya agan2 sudah tau, yaitu menaikan beban pajak bagi film asing. Hal ini mengakibatkan Motion Pictures Association (MPA) benar-benar menghentikan peredaran film Hollywood sampai saat ini. 2. Menghilangkan Garam dari Air laut
PBB mencatat, suplai air bersih akan sangat terbatas bagi miliaran manusia pada pertengahan abad ini. Ada teknologi bernama desalinasi, yakni menghilangkan kadar garam dan mineral dari air laut sehingga layak diminum. Ini merupakan solusi yang bisa dilakukan untuk mencegah krisis air. Masalahnya, teknologi ini masih terlalu mahal dan membutuhkan energi cukup besar. Kini para ilmuwan tengah mencari jalan agar desalinasi dapat berlangsung dengan energi lebih sedikit. Salah satu caranya adalah dengan melakukan evaporasi pada air sebelum masuk ke membran dengan pori-pori mikroskopis.
3. Tenaga Hidrogen
Bahan bakar hidrogen dianggap sebagai bahan bakar alternatif bebas polusi. Energi dihasilkan dari perpaduan antara hidrogen dan oksigen. Problemnya adalah bagaimana hidrogen itu dihasilkan. Molekul seperti air dan alkohol harus diproses dulu untuk mengekstaksi hidrogen sehingga menjadi sel bahan bakar. Proses ini juga membutuhkan energi besar. Namun setidaknya ilmuwan sudah mencoba membuat laptop serta peranti lain dengan tenaga fuel cell.
4. Tenaga Surya
Energi surya yang sampai di bumi terbentuk dari photon, dapat dikonversikan menjadi listrik atau panas. Beberapa perusahaan dan perumahan sudah berhasil menggunakan aplikasi ini. Mereka memakai sel surya dan termal surya lain sebagai media pengumpul energi.
5. Konversi Panas Laut
Media pengumpul tenaga surya terbesar di bumi ini adalah air laut. Departemen Energi Amerika Serikat (AS) menyebut, laut mampu menyerap panas surya setara dengan energi yang dihasilkan 250 miliar barel minyal per hari. Ada teknologi bernama OTEC yang mampu mengkonversikan energi termal laut menjadi listrik. Perbedaan suhu antar permukaan laut mampu menjalankan turbin dan menggerakan generator. Masalahnya, teknologi ini masih kurang efisien.
6. Energi Gelombang Laut
Laut melingkupi 70 persen permukaan bumi. Gelombangnya menyimpan energi besar yang dapat menggerakkan turbin-turbin sehingga mengasilkan listrik. Problemnya agak sulit memperkirakan kapan gelombang laut cukup besar sehingga memproduksi energi yang cukup. Solusinya adalah dengan menyimpan sebagian energi ketika gelombang cukup besar. Sungai Timur kota New York saat ini sedang menjadi proyek percobaan dengan enam turbin bertenaga gelombanng air. Sedangkan Portugis justru sudah lebih dulu mempraktikan teknologi ini dan sukses menerangi lebih dari 1500 rumah.
7. Menanami Atap Rumah
Konsep ini diilhami dari Taman Gantung Babilonia yang masuk dalam daftar Tujuh Keajaiban Dunia. Istana Babilonia terdiri atas atap yang ditanami aneka flora, juga balkon dan terasnya. Taman atap ini mampu menyerap panas dan mengurangi karbon dioksida. Bayangkan jika burung-burung dan kupu-kupu berterbangan di sekitar rumah hijau kita.
8. Bioremediasi
Ada proses bernama bioremediasi, yakni memanfaatkan mikroba dan tanaman untuk membersihkan kontaminasi. Salah satunya adalah membersihkan kandungan nitrat dalam air dengan bantuan mikroba. Atau memakai tanaman untuk menetralisir arsenik dari tanah. Beberapa tumbuhan asli ternyata punya daedah untuk membersihkan bumi kita dari aneka polusi.
9. Kubur Barang-barang Perusak
Karbon dioksida adalah faktor utama penyebab pemanasan global. Energy Information Administration (EIA) mencatat, tahun 2030 emisi karbon dioksida mencapai 8000 juta metrik ton. Metode paling sederhana untuk menekan kandungan zat berbahaya itu adalah dengan menguburkan berbagai sumber penghasil CO2 seperti aneka limbah elektronik berbahaya. Namun ilmuwan masih belum yakin bahwa gas berbahaya akan tersimpan aman. Tetap saja kelak akan muncul imbas negatifnya bagi lingkungan.

TEMPO Interaktif, Jakarta - Aplikasi UberTwitter di ponsel cerdas BlackBerry diblokir oleh Twitter sejak kemarin. UberTwitter dinilai melanggar kebijakan mereka. Para pemilik akun Twitter yang memakai BlackBerry pun mencari pengganti UberTwitter. Meski disarankan menggunakan Twitter for BlackBerry, banyak pengguna UberTwitter kini beralih ke SocialScope.
Menurut laporan International Business Times, pengunduh aplikasi SocialScope langsung melonjak jumlahnya. Para pengguna BlackBerry kini dengan mudah mendapatkan aplikasi SocialScope. Mereka hanya perlu mendaftar di getsocialscope.com, setelah itu akan dikirim kode lewat email agar bisa mendapatkan aplikasi SocialScope.
SocialScope kemarin memang beredar cepat kemarin. Seorang pengguna UberTwitter yang beralih ke SocialScope, MargarethEllen berkata, "aku benci ubertwitter tidak ada lagi, aku masih mencoba menyukai socialscope." Sedangkan Hugoboi menulis, "SocialScope cukup asyik, aku mungkin akan menyukainya, tapi aku lebih cinta dengan UT."
Beberapa pengguna UberTwitter memang kecewa berat. Saking kesalnya, salah seorang pemilik akun Twitter menulis, "Baru saja mencoba #socialscope dan semakin membuatku rindu dengan #UberTwitter."
Aplikasi UberTwitter diblokir oleh Twitter. Mereka dinilai melanggar kebijakan Twitter. "Masalah privasi dengan pesan langsung melebihi 140 karakter, pelanggaran merek dagang, dan mengubah isi tweet pengguna untuk mendapatkan keuntungan," kata Juru Bicara Twitter Carolyn Penner.
UberMedia belum membuka berapa jumlah pengguna aplikasi mobile, tetapi Twitter menyatakan penangguhan itu kemungkinan mempengaruhi pengguna dalam jumlah besar. Twitter sendiri memiliki sekitar 200 juta pengguna yang terdaftar dan volume tweet mencapai 110 juta pesan per hari.
Di Indonesia, SocialScope juga langsung naik daun. Banyak pengguna UberTwitter yang beralih ke SocialScope. Penulis Daniel Ziv dalam akun Twitternya @DanielZiv menulis, "SocialScope is a pretty good temporary alternative to Uber Twitter, and far better than Twitter for BB."
Selain @DanielZiv, @ndorokakung juga memilih SocialScope, semalam dia menulis, "Setelah mencoba hootsuite, snaptu dan socialscope, pilihan jatuh pada SS. Demikian." Sedangkan @aacchhyy yang sebelumnya juga menggunakan UberTwitter kini beralih ke socialscope. "Twit pertama pake social scope, asyik juga. Dan socialscope juga punya menu "mute" sip :)"
Putih Telur
Putih telur mengandung banyak protein, maka dapat digunakan sebagai masker untuk mencerahkan kulit wajahmu. Ambil satu butir telur, lalu pisahkan kuning dengan putihnya. Sisihkan kuningnya, kocoklah putih telur, lalu oleskan ke seluruh wajah. Diamkan selama 15 menit dan bilaslah.

Oatmeal dapat menyerap minyak dengan baik dan juga dapat membersihkan jerawat di wajah. Masak oatmeal seperti biasa, lalu dinginkan. Aplikasikan oatmeal ke wajah sebagai masker, diamkan selama 10 menit, lalu bilas hingga bersih, dan tepuk-tepuk perlahan dengan handuk untuk mengeringkannya.
Aloe Vera
Aloe vera biasanya digunakan untuk menghilangkan luka bakar, tetapi dapat juga dipakai untuk mengatasi luka bekas jerawat di wajah. Oleskan getah aloe vera pada bekas luka dan gunakan sehari sekali sampai bekas luka menghilang.
Baking Soda
Cukup ambil 1 sdm baking soda, lalu campur dengan air secukupnya sampai berbentuk pasta. Usapkan dengan lembut pada kulit wajah selama 10-15 detik, lalu bilas sampai bersih. Baking soda akan mengangkat kulit mati dari jerawat yang sudah kering. Wajahmu pun akan terlihat lebih bersih dan bersinar.
